L'évaluation et l'amélioration du confort environnemental global du citadin, que ce soit chez lui, sur son lieu de travail ou lors de ses déplacements pédestres et cyclistes dans la ville, sont devenues des enjeux cruciaux du développement durable urbain de ce début de XXIe siècle. Ce projet R&D Environnements et ambiances cherche à aller au-delà de la réglementation actuelle, voire à créer de nouvelles méthodologie d'évaluation de la qualité de l'environnement interne et externe du cadre bâti, en associant différentes compétences techniques présentes au CSTB (acoustique, vibrations, ondes électromagnétiques, lumière naturelle et éclairage, aérothermique, végétation...) afin d'évaluer et d'améliorer de façon globale le confort du citadin, en confrontant la mesure physique, la prévision d'indicateurs dédiés et la perception des individus en terme de ressenti et de gêne. Ce projet est organisé autour de deux tâches : 1/ la caractérisation du confort global, impliquant la définition du confort humain de l'urbain au bâtiment, l'amélioration de nos outils de prévision et d'évaluation, ainsi que le développement d'outils de diagnostic ; 2/ les solutions d'amélioration du confort déterminées en appliquant les outils et bancs de mesures dédiés. // Assessment and improvement of people's global environmental comfort, at home, at work or during their pedestrian and cycling travels, have become a key challenge for sustainable development of cities as the new century begins. This R&D project called Environments and ambiences tries to go beyond the current regulations, even develop new approaches for indoor and outdoor environmental quality assessment. This may be achieved by combining expert knowledge at CSTB (acoustics, vibrations, electromagnetic waves, natural light and lighting, aero-thermal science, vegetating...). By comparing physical measurements, indicators predictions and people's perception (feeling and annoyance) one may capture and holistically improve the citizen's comfort. This project is organised around two tasks: 1/ Characterisation of global comfort, meaning definition of human comfort in urban as well as building areas, improvement of our assessment and prediction codes, and development of diagnostic tools; 2/ Solutions for improving comfort by applying our dedicated software and measuring facilities.
